Hello loves. I hope you all had a wonderful week! I know I did. I had a birthday, reminisced about Portland, spent a lot of time outside, and finished a painting (which you will see on Monday!), and rearranged my room, which always feel so good. What is it about putting your bed against a different wall that makes life seem so much more complete? Maybe that an exaggeration, but really, moving furniture around really gets me going. Or maybe I just get bored easily. Probably both. So the roomies are going out of town this weekend (meaning my parents) so I will have the house to myself and I have got to admit, I am looking forward to it. Not that their presence really inconveniences me at all. Sometimes its just nice to have your own space for a while, you get it right?
Last thing before I give you some links to check out if you want some light weekend reading. I made PISTACHIO BUTTER this week. If we aren't close you may not know that I am pretty much obsessed with all nut butters so having a new one in the house is like Christmas morning. (Honestly, on a minute level, it really is.) To give you an even better idea of how dedicated I am to nut butters, you should know I shelled all of the pistachios in order to make it. Thats right, I didn't buy preshelled nuts. Consequence was sore thumbs the next day but it was so worth it. I've included some pictures so you can see it go from nuts, to play-doh, to perfectly drippy heaven in a jar.
So I thought the pistachio butter was the last thing but it wasn't. Last thing is the other pictures are of my sister and nephew because I realized I didn't have a whole lot of pictures to show this week and we had a photo shoot recently. When in doubt, pictures of Wesley and my gorgeous sister's baby bump are probably never a bad idea.
This air stream. I want it. My travel bug is dying to go cross country in that beauty.
I love this rope shelf. If anyone wants to make it for me I always accept late birthday gifts.
Another craft. I have drift wood that needs to be used for something and this may just be the ticket!
I have gone through phases of journaling and I definitely think it is a great thing to practice. What do you think of making it a habit?
My combat boots have recently kicked the can and I'm kind of upset about it. I really want these but they are out of stock. Hoping they bring them back!
Wisconsin is a mighty fine shape for a cutting board. I now totally want this.
Artist crush this week is Carmel Seymour. She uses color really beautifully. The detailed drawings contrasting with the fluid paint is what really gets me.
