It's Friday so that means I have some links for you to check out over the weekend if you are interested! I hope this week treated you well. I'm happy to be home from my trip but the past few days have been a little adjustment getting back to work and into a normal routine. I don't mind it though. Yesterday my sister and nephew were in town which is always a good thing. We went to a local park and took some pictures of my sister's pregnant belly. I am by no means a portrait photographer but it was fun to try and take some cute pictures of her that document a special time in her life. I'll probably post a few on here just for fun and you can let me know if they look like a pregnant girl's senior pictures because I am pretty sure they do. My nephew and I also went to the children's museum together while I was on babysitting duty. On the lower level they have a water room where there are a bunch of contraptions, pipes, etc. that use water to make them run. There is one station with a lot of pipes and by opening and closing them you are supposed to try and get the water to make little foam balls travel from one end to another. I'm going to go ahead and say that it is impossible and that is really not cool to put children through that. Or their babysitters for that matter.
Anyways, I'll get back to the links because that is probably what will interest you most. By the way, the pictures are shots I took at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum that I went to in Seattle. Like I said before, it is an awesome place and definitely worth checking out if you are ever in Seattle. Chihuly is super cool.
The lessons she learned during her career(s) is well layed out and includes great advice.
Lena Dunham just came out with a new book and I bet it is awesome. Definitely on my must-read list.
More Lena Dunham! I liked this little interview. Basically I want to hang out with her.
It's getting colder so maybe staying inside more means more time for diy projects! Here is a list of some pretty things. My favorites are the hanging table and reverse indigo dyeing!
I want to do everything on this porch. Doesn't it just look like the best place to do pretty much anything?
Besides crushing on Chihuly this week, there are a couple other artists catching my eye. First, is this gem of a watercolorist. Kim Kardashian, Mrs. Doubtfire, Karen Smith, Edward Scissorhands, need I say more?
And this girl. I've challenged myself with a painting a week, but Lorraine Loots is doing a painting a day. The whole project is a pretty cool idea and its awesome to see how much it has taken off. And the tiny paintings are just darn adorable.
Have a lovely weekend!
